Counseling

I provide professional counseling as a Kentucky Licensed Pastoral Counselor (KLPC).

Therapy can be a powerful tool for personal growth and transformation. It can help individuals to:

  • Understand themselves better

  • Improve their mental health

  • Develop healthier relationships

  • Achieve their goals

How Therapy Can Transform Your Life

Therapy can help you to:

  • Gain self-awareness: Therapy can help you to become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This can be a powerful tool for personal growth and change.

  • Improve your emotional regulation: Therapy can help you to learn how to manage your emotions in a healthy way. This can help you to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.

  • Develop healthier coping mechanisms: Therapy can help you to develop healthy coping mechanisms for dealing with stress, trauma, and other difficult experiences.

  • Improve your communication skills: Therapy can help you to improve your communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal. This can help you to build stronger relationships.

  • Increase your self-esteem: Therapy can help you to build your self-esteem and confidence.

  • Set and achieve goals: Therapy can help you to set and achieve goals, both personal and professional.

  • Resolve past traumas: Therapy can help you to resolve past traumas that may be holding you back in life.

  • Improve your overall well-being: Therapy can help you to improve your overall well-being, both physical and mental.

Getting the Most Out of Therapy

Getting the most out of therapy requires a commitment from you. Here are a few tips:

  • Be open and honest: The more open and honest you are with your therapist, the more they can help you.

  • Be willing to work: Therapy is a process, and it takes time to see results.

  • Be patient: Don't expect to change overnight. It takes time to develop new patterns of thinking and behavior.

  • Do your homework: Your therapist may assign you homework to do between sessions. This is an important part of the therapy process.

  • Communicate with your therapist: Tell your therapist if you are not happy with the progress you are making.

If you are considering therapy, I encourage you to take the first step. Therapy can be a life-changing experience.

I provide pastoral counseling which by definition is the combination of theological concepts and mental health practices to clients in the state of Kentucky. I currently only maintain a small clientele as I have a full-time commitment to the church and to a local Christian private school where I provide counseling services for.

  • I exclusively provide telehealth counseling. I do not at this time provide in-person in on-site counseling.

  • You can reach out to me through email to check for availability if interested in counseling services.

  • I do not accept insurance. I offer a self-pay service only. In some instances, you can file with your insurance company for reimbursement.  I will provide a receipt with appropriate codes and information; however, any reimbursement is between the client and their insurance company.

  • The standard fee for a 50-minute session is $100 (a session is anywhere from 45 minutes up to 1-hour but the goal is stay around 50 minutes).  The fee for counsel is to be paid prior to or at the time of counseling services. Additional fees for assessments may be required and are as needed. These would include assessments beyond the standard assessments taken during intake process.

  • Counseling and coaching services are provided via telehealth.

  • I currently have a couple of evening telehealth slots open. Email nick@drsecula.com for availability or use the contact form below.
